Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV)
is designed to capture and display video in a closed environment, and is
mainly for security purposes. These systems come in a wide variety of
configurations ranging from a single camera to systems that are fully
integrated with security, access control, and data network systems. When

number of video inputs (determined by the number of cameras), level of

Recorders (DVRs)
DVRs are used to store
video on a server in a digital format. The
amount of video that can be saved is
affected by the number of cameras,
resolution, and number of frames-per-second
recorded. Capacity is added by increasing
the amount of hard-drive space. Recorders
can be set to record motion only,
time-of-day, or a combination of both. |
